Overview
Cao Bang is a province in northeastern Vietnam. It borders Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang province in the west, Bac Kan and Lang Son provinces on the south. In the north and east, Cao Bang borders Bai Sach and Sung Tai districts of the Guangxi Autonomous Region (China).
Cao Bang has a natural land area of 6,690.72 square kilometers. It is the karst plateau mixed with mountains. The mountains and forests cover over 90% of the province. Located in the northern region of Viet Bac, the headland of the country, Cao Bang is a famous tourist spot for travelers with a huge potential of rich, pristine, and majestic nature.
Cao Bang has a number of mountains, forests, rivers, and streams which spread majestically. The area of Ban Gioc waterfall and Nguom Ngao cave in Trung Khanh district are the beautiful landscape in the region. The fall is located on the flow of the Quay Son river which is considered as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country and in the world. Nguom Ngao cave is a world of natural stalactites of thousands of different shapes. Also, Thang Hen mountain lake in Tra Linh district and Phia Oac mountain in Nguyen Binh district are the attractions in Cao Bang to travelers. Besides, Cao Bang is a land of the long revolutionary tradition where is the root of the revolution of Vietnam.
