Overview
Pu Luong National Park is a nature reserve located in Quan Hoa and Ba Thuoc districts - the northwest of Thanh Hoa Province. Situated about 170 kilometers from Hanoi, this nature reserve covers an area of 17,662 hectares of which three-fourth area is primary forest. This is the largest remaining limestone forest in northern Vietnam. Pu Luong is home to the Muong and Thai ethnic groups. Pu Luong in Thai means the highest peak of the village. Owning a 1,700-meter high peak, Pu Luong National Park is the favorite trekking spot for many tourists.
The climate in Pu Luong is quite nice all year round but the best time to travel there is from May to June and September to October when you can admire the golden rice terraces.
